Merry Christmas! Feliz Navidad! What a magnificent celebration we had. We started out by putting on our blinking Christmas light necklaces and creating a Holiday Ornament. And then off to hear the Little Christmas Elf story and sing the Winnie the Pooh version of, The Twelve Days of Christmas. And then we added our Santa hats to sing Raffi’s, It Must Be Santa, which motivated us to put on our bell adorned reindeer antlers and perform Jim Reeves, Jingle Bells. This encouraged us to dance around the tables to, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. And then we were motivated to let the games begin. We wore our blinking Christmas light bulb headbands & necklaces while participating in THE PIZZA WALK (earning a present), and then we played a HOLIDAY MEMORY GAME (earning an holiday bucket filled with gifts) and then a BEAN BAG TOSS HOPSCOTCH (earning a chocolate Santa). Then we had fun getting involved in a CHRISTMAS COOKIE DECORATING contest (winning stickers). Then it was time for our HI PIZZA MAN story to prepare us for our surprise delivery person—who wasn’t a Pizza Cow like we suspected. And then on to our huge feast of; pizza, oranges, raisin & peanuts, fruit roll-ups, peanut butter & pretzels, frosted cookies, gingerbread men, marshmallow trees, chocolate pudding, candy canes and strawberry kiwi juice drinks. Our bellies were more than satisfied. To wound down the day’s festivities we watched “Olive the Other Reindeer” opened our stockings that Santa filled last night and then heard the adorable story SIX SNOWY SHEEP and then finally took a long hard winters nap. As the big man in the red suit always says, “Merry Christmas to all…and to all a good night.” P.S. A special thanks to Christine Hagedorn for the adorable blinking necklaces and headbands, and to Heather Waddle for the special, quality, full-size dinosaurs for each child. Christian enjoyed handing them out to each friend and they were beyond grateful; super cute!
Thank you!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Turkey Day, Little Turkeys! First we created pine-cone turkey centerpieces to take home. Then we played the game: “Turkey-Turkey Whose Got The Turkey”, and then we sat down to savor a yummy feast of turkey, cranberry, olives, raisins, mixed nuts, blueberries, juicy apples, cheddar cheese cubes, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, oranges, cookies, Fruit Roll-Ups, brownie bites, pumpkin & berry pie (with whipped cream), cranberry juice and eggnog. And then we got to relax our little turkey bellies by watching A Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving and The Mayflower Voyagers. This year I am thankful for all of my preschool parents (past and present) who have supported me on my relocation to Chico, their kids who I miss every day and to my new preschool parents who have been super supportive and conscientious, raising incredible, funny and intelligent little turkeys; full of character and charm. And a special thank you to Christian Heather Waddle for my lovely sunflowers. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!! I am grateful to all of you and look forward to the year ahead. 🙂
Happy Halloween!
On Wednesday, October 31st we had another successful HALLOWEEN BASH in the KIDS FIRST Teddy Bear Class! We heard our hilarious Skeleton Hiccups book, and then the shenanigans began. And then winding down the activities with Alvin & the Chipmunks meet the Wolf man made it all that.

And then we participated in a Limbo event & performed our Hula Dance routine. After that, we sang our wonderful Humuhumunukunukuapu’a song about the famous Hawaiian fish while wearing our Fish Hats earning a variety of ocean creatures. This led us to our feast of Hawaiian Pizza, Barbecue Chips, Whale Crackers, Colorful Jell-O, Fruit Kabobs, Sprinkled Cupcakes, Chocolate Pretzel Rods and Hawaiian Punch. And a special thank you to Aiden for bringing a pineapple and mangoes…yum and how apropos–Christine Hagedorn. Aloha!
Happy Cinco de Mayo
Happy day before Cinco de Mayo (Cuatro de Mayo)! An excuse to gorge on chips and salsa…I’m in. We’re a school that believes in no holiday left behind—so Cinco de Mayo may be on a Saturday, but we still found a way to celebrate it at school. We enjoyed Mariachi music throughout the day and dancing the Mexican Hat Dance. SO FUN! Then we satisfied our palates with cheese quesadilla’s topped with sour cream, corn and chips with spicy salsa, bean and ranch dip. And then we quenched our thirst with fruit juice—a fabulous fiesta!

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter! Be on the lookout for bunny tracks! We know the Easter bunny was already here because he filled our baskets full of treats. And according to his note he hid candy-filled eggs for us to search for—yay!!! Our party started off by dancing to the “Bunny Hop”— hopping our bunny feet all the way to play “Pin the Tail on the Bunny” where we got to win a soft bunny friend. And then we did the movement activity “I am Bunny Pink Ears” earning a treat. And then we engaged in a romping good time playing “Bunny Bingo” and “Bunny Match” earning a present. Then it was on to our special snack feast of carrots with Ranch dip, colorful eggs we dyed, cheddar bunny crackers, chips, spring cupcakes, Easter cookies, yummy applesauce and berry juice. After we gorged our little bodies we remembered that the Easter bunny had visited and hunted for Easter eggs! Sugar high here we come!
Happy Easter to all you little bunnies out there.
Happy St.Paddy’s Day!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Go Green or Go Home. The wee little folk in the Teddy Bear class had our traditional Irish music playing all morning, and proudly wore our personally crafted shamrock headbands most of the day. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch a leprechaun this year—those little rascals are just too quick. They also made a big mess in our play room—jeez! But they did leave us some rather delicious green rainbow candy treats, which made their antics forgivable. Our festivities included a wild shamrock match game, earning treat cups, and a find the Shamrock search game, winning bubbles. And then, after we watched Green Eggs and Ham we all earned a cute mini leprechaun hat. We listened to the story “The Luckiest St. Patrick’s Day Ever” right before we feasted on green cream cheese celery sticks, green Jell-O, green apples, green applesauce, green chips with green dip, Lucky Charms cereal, frosted shamrock cookies, scrumptious festive cupcakes and green punch. It was a magically delicious day.
