The wee little folk in the Teddy Bear class did the Irish jig to our traditional Irish music, and proudly wore our personally crafted shamrock headbands most of the day. But sadly, we did not catch a leprechaun this year—I know! We really thought this would be the year. It was sure a surprise to see the big mess they made in our playroom! Jeesh! Of course, they did leave us some rather delicious green rainbow candy treats, which made up for their shenanigans. We started our party festivities by Decorating a Shamrock Cookie. Then we Played a Lucky Coin Toss Game, a Wild Shamrock Match Game, Find the Shamrock, and a St. Patrick’s Day Bingo game—winning St. Patrick’s Day Stickers, Rainbow Lollipops, Slime, Green Dice, and nifty Treat Cups!
We also watched Green Eggs and Ham, listened to the story “Lizzie the Lazy Leprechaun” and feasted on green Jell-O, green chips with green dip, Lucky Charms cereal, oranges, festive shamrock cupcakes, celery with green cream cheese, rainbow fruit roll-ups, and green punch. And then we enjoyed a special St. Patrick’s Day movie.
